Teaching with APP-itude
Kami Butterfield is the founder and owner of the website Teaching with APPitude. I was immediatly drawn to it. Kami has spent the last 21 years of her career in a third grade classroom and is currently a third grade teacher in Baxter Springs, Kansas. Although I am not familiar with Baxter Springs, I love the fact that she teaches in Kansas. It gives us small-town girls hope! Butterfield also graduated with a masters degree from Pittsburg State University, which is also in Kansas.
Butterfield is an advocate for integrating technology into the classroom. Her school district, Baxter Springs, uses a 1:1 device system. She is passionate about teaching her fellow educators from all around the country how to easily use iPads. She presents professional development to teachers who are interested in integrating iPads into their everyday classroom to enhance curriculum. Her blog talks all about her iPad tips and tricks that teachers can use to make learning easier and more fun! She recommends and reviews hundreds of various apps that can be incorporated into classroom activities and projects. Her most recent post talks all about the app pic-collage, and how teachers can integrate this app for tons of awesome activities for students! The pictures on your right are just a few examples of all the possibilities pic-collage can do!
